Well, we’ve been at it for a little over a week now. It’s been crazy. From the oppressive heat to watching our travel plans crumble and fly away in the wind. Despite it all, we are having a great time! We are in India after all! We’re so grateful to even have the opportunity to visit a place that most people will only see pictures of. When someone tries to rip us off or we have to do something in a totally different way than we planned, we try our best to remember how lucky we are.
So far we are doing well as far as our physical and mental health. It’s impossible to stay fully hydrated but we do our best to drink as much water as possible. We are still adjusting to the food, though none of us has had any crazy stomach problems. We have been playing it fairly safe with our food choices though. Emily and Ethan’s sleep schedules are still off, but I’ve been going to bed at 10 and waking up at 6 or whatever time we need to wake up.
The heat is probably taking the greatest toll on us. We sweat like crazy and and our bodies are working double time to try and keep us cool. That makes us pretty lethargic and we usually have to break for a nap in the early afternoon. Or at least hang out in the a/c for a few hours. Khan tells us that the rain is coming soon, which should help cool things down a little. If anything it will at least block the sun a bit. Even our 7 months in Thailand’s heat couldn’t prepare us for this. I’m glad that we’ll be spending some time by the ocean soon!
We are leaving Jaipur today and headed for Pushkar. Hoping to get up to date on the blogs soon, but at this point it’s more of a pipe dream than reality!
Until next time,
